Some of our students visited the Ronald McDonald H

Some of our students visited the Ronald McDonald House Charity and cooked up a big breakfast for the families currently there.

These mornings are one of our students favourites and is a part of our outreach program.

They get to cook food, paint children’s faces, create art and hopefully make their day a little bit brighter.

The strength, courage and positivity of these families is something we continue to admire.

Last week we held our own NAIDOC week to celebrate

Last week we held our own NAIDOC week to celebrate all Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people’s, their culture and their heritage.

We ended the week with a Smoking Ceremony, acknowledging and paying our respects to the True Custodians of the land on which Tommy More was built.

Barry Winmar performed the ceremony, a ritual of purification and unity between our residents, our college and the earth beneath.

It was a really vibrant night where we were able to answer all questions regarding Tommy and College life.

It’s nothing like living in the boarding house - a good bridge between moving out of home and living independently.

Yesterday marked the start of national NAIDOC Week 2021. We love celebrating the different cultures of those who reside at Tommy More and our greater community.

Let us reflect together and celebrate our First Nation Peoples.

Heal Country calls for stronger measures to recognise, protect and maintain all aspects of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage. You can participate in COVIDSafe events online.

Tommy will again host its very own NAIDOC Week when our residents return from break, to learn about the history, culture and achievements of our First Nation Peoples.
