At Tommy More we strive to nurture the physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing of our residents.

We endeavour to foster connections and create lasting relationships between people of all different nationalities, disciplines and experiences. We do this in many ways…

On-Campus Care

Both our Head of College, Tom Mitchell, and Deputy Head of College, Bec Wood, live on campus with their families. They are available to both students and parents alike, for pastoral care, physical and emotional wellbeing 24/7, along with the team of Resident Advisor’s who are all also current residents, and who are rostered in shifts each night to ensure the welfare of all students.

Tommy More is like a family. We are all here for one another. And our staff are here to support all residents on campus.

Welfare Breakfast

The Welfare Breakfast is a brunch that is put on for our residents towards the end of the semester. This is an opportunity for people to de-stress, catch-up with one another and of course, eat some free food.

This brunch has a focus on making sure that people are aware that their health is important, support is available and that everyone has value.

Resident Advisor Team

Our Residential Advisor’s are at the core of our Health and Wellbeing Program. Each RA group meets up regularly to ensure that residents are able to get to know their neighbours, are aware of important information and are encouraged to participate in upcoming events. This is also a chance for the RA’s to check in with everyone on their floor.

Inter-College Sport

The five Colleges across College Row compete in a number of sporting activities, from ultimate frisbee to rugby, hockey to stand-up paddle-boarding. This promotes healthy competition, and camaraderie within Tommy, and also across the wider College community.

At Tommy, we love to win, but we also pride ourselves on our team spirit.

Events that have a focus on being physically, mentally and emotionally fit, such as Welfare Week and RUOK Day activities, are promoted throughout the College and residents are encouraged to participate.

Inter-Wing Activities

Inter-Wing Activities consist of a competition between the different floors, wings and buildings around College. Different representatives from each of the eight groups meet once a week to earn points for their team, which count towards an end of year trophy. Activities include quad soccer, basketball, a cook off and a battle of the brains challenge.

At Tommy, we love sport.

At Tommy “WE LOVE SPORT”. A weekday afternoon would hardly be classed as normal without a game of footy or soccer out on the quad, with random teams of students taking a break from their studies to get some exercise, and take out some aggression on an innocent leather ball. As well as recreational facilities on site, our residents have membership at the UWA Sport and Recreation Centre just across the road, this includes all classes, Gym and court hire. We are also lucky enough to have the most visually amazing running tracks along the Swan River or Kings Park.
