Our modern facilities are some of the best in the country. We have a fantastic Recreation Centre that is available 24/7 for all residents with a pool table, table tennis and Foxtel with a nice area just to chill out and catch up with your mates. The student tuckshop known as “the tucky” is also available in this space on specific nights.
We have a Graduate Lounge on the mezzanine level of the dining room that allows our senior students and graduates a place of their own. With a large television with Foxtel, it is a popular place to watch the weekend’s football action with other senior students or to kick back with friends after a gruelling day of lectures.
Our modern facilities also include nine separate common spaces that have TV’s and comfy lounges. We also have dedicated study rooms and academic learning centres, a print room, two bike storage areas with loan bikes and kayaks that our residents can borrow to take over to the river, two new laundries, a wonderful dining room and alfresco area, a seminar room and a communal kitchen students can use to cook their own meals.
With Table Tennis, Pool Table, Book Exchange, TV, Fooz Ball Table and Pin Ball machine, amongst other things, the Singleton Rec Room is always frequented by our students.
Our spacious back quad provides students with a green space to relax, play basketball or play a game of chess.
Students in our Standard Rooms can enjoy either 16 or 21 meals in our Dining Room, either inside, our outside in the courtyard. There is always a selection of hot food for lunch and dinner, as well as an amazing salad bar and vegetarian/vegan options.
Our Half-Basketball court is always popular with students, especially those looking to unwind after a busy day at university.
Great for reading a book or just relaxing, Hammock Grove, in the Front Quad, provides a place to rest and relax. The Front Quad is a spacious green area, with soccer pitch and barbeques.
Recently refurbished, the Hickey Study Lounge provides an alternative study option for students who wish to study outside their room. With charging stations at each desk and lots of natural light, this is a popular option among students.
Students at St Thomas More College have full access to our on-site gymnasium 24/7 with a range of equipment and weights.
St Thomas More College has more than nine common rooms, located on each floor, that provide students with TV’s, comfortable couches and study tables.
Our Graduate Lounge is a private space for students in their 3rd year of studies and above to study or connect with one another.
The Begley all-purpose room provides a common space for students to come together, and also has a cinema screen, which shows movies once a week to interested students. It also provides a more relaxed study setting during the week.
Our Communal Kitchen provides a space for students in Standard Rooms to cook and enjoy meals together.
St Thomas More College has two laundries on site, with both washers and dryers, as well as a sink, iron and ironing boards. Outside, there are also two drying areas for people who prefer to air dry their clothes.
The Piazza is a wonderful and modern outdoor space with tables and chairs for students who wish to study or connect outside.
All rooms at the College have secure keycard access, which means that not only are they secure, but that rooms can be made available to students on demand, 24 hours a day. Our College also has security surveillance, and our Head and Deputy Head of College reside on campus.
Our College is centrally located and many students choose to bring their bikes, which can be securely stored on-site.
For students who do not have a car on campus, our College has two Student Carshare vehicles on site.
Our dedicated Chartwells catering team provides residents with a wide range of healthy options three times a day, seven days a week, throughout the academic year.
There is always a selection of hot food for lunch and dinner, as well as an amazing salad bar and vegetarian/vegan options. Our Catering committee, which includes a number of student representatives, meets regularly and offers feedback on behalf of our residents, helping us to remain in touch with what students expect and enjoy.
The award-winning team at Chartwells are more like part of the family and love having a chat to our students about their favourite meals from home. They are always happy for you to make suggestions and get excited when we have a formal dinner so that they can showcase their talents.
