Bachelor of Secondary Education, Curtin UniversityMoving to Perth as a young adult can be daunting, however, the staff, friends and community at Tommy make it such an easy transition.
During my time at Tommy, I have met some amazing people within the community, who I now call some of my closest friends.
Tommy has given me so many opportunities to develop new skills, not just in academics, which will help me to stand out from job competitors.

Bachelor of Nursing, University of Notre DameI was a young lady moving a long way from home all alone, I took a leap out of my comfort zone and joined the community of St Thomas More College. I have not regretted my decision at all, my experience so far has been nothing short of amazing!
The people I have met will be my friends for life and the experiences that I have been involved in are a true testimony to all the people of Tommy More. If you are passionate about anything, our college offers it, and you are able to join as much as you feel comfortable with. At Tommy More, they will support you with every aspiration you have and you will always be a part of the family.

Perth, Western Australia
Bachelor of Engineering, UWASince I moved to Australia from South Africa, I have always wanted to live at college to make friends and live a more independent life.
Joining the St Thomas More College community was one of the best choices I have made and has allowed me to not only make friends that I will keep for life but also helped me to make connections with other people also studying Engineering. I am constantly exposed to opportunities that improve my leadership and broaden my knowledge of various topics.
The sporting community at Tommy is a great way for me to keep active and have fun with my friends every week. The convenience of living so close to UWA is an extra perk that helps me get more involved with the university and be more up-to-date with the events they run.

Bachelor of Biomedical Science, UWAMoving away from home and the community of Albany’s UWA campus was daunting. However, Tommy More’s welcoming community exceeded all expectations and erased any of my doubts.
I was quickly introduced to the spirited college culture and exposed to many community events and opportunities that provided a great chance to get away from the study for a while and enjoy time with mates.
The great thing about the College is the ability for everyone to experience Tommy in a unique way. The college experience is extremely personal, and you can choose to become as involved as you like. With such a broad range of sporting and social events you are sure to find a crowd you feel comfortable with.

Kulikup, Western Australia
Bachelor of Commerce, UWAMoving to St Thomas More College on my own from a very small town, I didn’t have many expectations. I was thinking it would just be a place for me to live while I completed my degree. I could not have been more wrong!
Tommy is a community where there is a space for everyone to grow and become who they want to be. I have made strong connections with so many people and have had countless opportunities to enhance my education. Tommy welcomes everyone into their community and has many ways to get involved and meet new people. Moving here has been one of the best decisions I have ever made and I do not regret moving here one little bit.

Geraldton, Western Australia
Bachelor of Secondary Education, University of Notre DameWhen I reflect on moving to Tommy, I realise it was the best decision I have made. Moving away from home is a big leap into adulthood and Tommy created an environment in which I instantly felt welcomed. From sports to social events to our volunteering program, there is something here for everyone to be involved in. If it weren’t for Tommy, I wouldn’t have met some of the most influential people in my life, from staff to students.
Tommy encourages and provides you the opportunity to form friendships that I know I will have for a long time… because once a Tommy moron, always a Tommy moron.

Finn McDonald
Singapore
Bachelor of Biomedical Science, UWAWhen I first moved to Tommy all the way from Singapore, I had my worries about fitting in and finding friends. Now I can happily call Tommy my home. The culture and community here really help residents develop a sense of belonging and as an RA this year I can’t wait to help students settle in.
Overall my experience at Tommy has been life changing and I would strongly recommend the college lifestyle to all university students.

Bachelor of Education (Primary, 1-10 Health and Physical Education), Murdoch UniversityLike many students arriving at Tommy, I was nervous and did not know what to expect but now it has become my home away from home. Tommy provides a smooth transition for moving out of home and to the city. The College community has made me feel so welcomed and supported. Moving to Tommy was one of the best decisions of my life and I would definitely recommend it to others.
The friends that you make and the events you experience are like no other. There are events available for people with all different interests and the support you get from other residents is incredible. The experiences available allow you to develop in many aspects of life and truly make a unique life more than a degree!

Bachelor of Biomedical Science, UWAMoving to Perth after high school, I always knew I wanted to move into a residential college, and I can very confidently say picking Tommy was the best decision I could have made! The college itself and its community way exceeded any of my expectations. The community here made my transition really easy, as Tommy has such a lively and welcoming atmosphere. I have met so many new friends and already have made lots of amazing memories I will hold onto forever!
The college’s culture is fantastic, with many social events where you meet new people and inter-college activities which are always so much fun. Tommy has so much to offer and provides a happy space to study, have fun and relax. At Tommy More, I have always felt supported and encouraged to push myself out of my comfort zone to learn and grow. It’s an experience I will never forget, and one I’d recommend to everyone!

Darci Bellis
Darwin, Northern Territory
Bachelor of Arts, UWAComing from Darwin, I moved to Tommy knowing no one in the slightest. It was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences, but an experience I am beyond grateful for. Throughout my time here at college, I have developed so many interpersonal skills and built confidence in knowing what I am capable of as a person. Not only does Tommy provide so much support for my academic studies, but the social and leadership skills I have been exposed to have helped me so much in everyday life setting me up for my future career.
